Hey y'all, it's Sis Thee Doll! As many of you know, I’ve been producing my annual holiday show, Sismas, since 2022. It’s a show I’m super proud of and one I hope the community looks forward to every year. A lot of folks think Sismas is just a cabaret, but nah — it’s so much more. Sismas is a full holiday spectacular that celebrates love, community, and all things holiday, whether you celebrate Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, or don’t celebrate anything at all and just wanna vibe. There’s a place for everyone.

This year, my goal is to make Sismas bigger, better, and even more communal. I’ve always wanted it to be more than just a show, but a series of events leading up to Sismas day — mimicking that familial feeling many of us grew up with leading up to Christmas, but in a way that’s accessible and for all of us. But this year, it’s been harder to make happen due to a lack of resources, and with everything being so expensive, me being one person, I can’t finance this alone. So I’m reaching out to the community to help bring it to life.

As we gear up for Sismas ‘25, I’m aiming to raise 15k to support show costs, rehearsal spaces, paying the cast, band, and creative team, and a very special community celebration we’re planning — an event with free food, drinks for purchase, and fun for the community. All funds raised will also be used to gift much-needed resources to those affected this year by the government shutdown, the disruption of SNAP benefits, and the overall rising food costs.
